Designed by Lella and Massimo Vignelli, the Maxplate reflects the designers’ belief that everyday objects should combine beauty, simplicity, and practicality. Part of the celebrated Max collection, the plate features clean lines and a subtle raised rim that allows multiple plates to stack neatly into compact columns—helping keep cabinets organized while maintaining a refined, minimalist aesthetic.
At 7½ inches in diameter, the plate is ideal for salads, appetizers, desserts, sandwiches, and side dishes, making it a versatile piece for both casual meals and more formal gatherings.
Originally introduced in 1964 and later brought into production by Heller in 1971, the Max collection quickly became a modern design classic. It was awarded Italy’s prestigious Compasso d’Oro and added to the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
