Practical design with purposeful meaning.

Founded in 2013 in Detroit, Floyd co-founders Kyle Hoff and Alex O'Dell created their brand as a reaction to disposable furniture. Each piece is designed to be multi-functional, durable, and timeless, allowing it to grow, adapt, and evolve - instead of ending up in a landfill.

Guided by Design

The Floyd design principles guide the brand's design process. That process always starts with a problem that needs to be solved: What would make our homes more comfortable, functional, beautiful, and healthy?

Sustainability in Every Step

Floyd designs with a range of sustainable materials, from recycled textiles to FSC-certified wood. Over 90% of the brand's furniture is made in America, and in 2022, Floyd committed to become one of the first carbon neutral furniture brands.

Materials in the Mix

Floyd selects materials based on longevity and circularity, relying on recycled and natural resources that aren't treated with harmful chemicals.

“We’re thrilled to merge Floyd’s deep understanding of home with Haworth’s passion and expertise.”

— Kyle Hoff, Floyd co-founder

Humble beginnings. Purposeful end.

Humble beginnings. Purposeful end.

One day in 2013, co-founders Kyle Hoff and Alex O'Dell launched a Kickstarter campaign with a single product: the Floyd Leg. Developed as a reaction to disposable furniture, the Leg allowed anyone to make a table from any found surface material. It quickly became a hit, and in their first year, Kyle and Alex delivered table legs to customers in over 30 countries. And so Floyd began. Since then, their practical design philosophy has led to thoughtful furniture concepts living in more than 50,000 homes worldwide.
