Maxmugs

Designed by Lella and Massimo Vignelli, the Maxmug reflects the designers’ belief that everyday objects should combine beauty, simplicity, and practicality. Part of the celebrated Max collection, the mug features clean lines and thoughtful proportions that make it comfortable to hold while maintaining the collection’s distinctive architectural look.

Like the rest of the Max series, the mug is designed to stack neatly into compact columns, helping keep cabinets organized while creating a striking visual rhythm. A subtle internal dam helps catch drips, adding a functional detail that enhances the everyday coffee or tea ritual.

Originally designed in 1964 and later introduced by Heller in 1971, the Max collection quickly became a modern design classic—winning Italy’s prestigious Compasso d’Oro and earning a place in the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
