Beautiful and Solid Desk

This desk is a HUGE upgrade from my previous desks! The design is clean and easy to build. It is very heavy though and you will need another person to help you flip and lift it.

If I had to nit pick, there were no instruction manual included and so I had to look online for one. Luckily it was easy to find - however it would have been nice if it were included. My other issue was for the instructions to orientate the desk top so flipping would be easy was opposite of what it should have been.

Thank you for your feedback on the Upside Sit-to-Stand Desk! We're glad to hear that you love the design and found it easy to build. We apologize for any inconvenience caused by the lack of an instruction manual and will make sure to include one in future shipments. Thank you for bringing the issue with the desk top orientation to our attention - we will definitely look into it and make any necessary improvements. Have a great day!

Amazing choice for my first desk.

Since having this desk for about a week has shown that it's a great contender for a sit-stand desk. My only qualm (and it's just a personal one) is that I had to drill extra holes, which added more work for me and the person helping me. Otherwise, I have recommended this desk to friends and family members who WFH. It doesn't wobble when I raise or lower the desk, and the motor isn't excessively loud. I work from home and I'm in meetings/calls constantly, it reduces the stress on me (and my back) rather than having a regular desk.

Some advice: Haworth team, amazing job on building the desk. But for the future, would you be able to consider pre-drilling ALL of the holes for the desk (no matter the configuration) for future releases? I think it would put you guys ahead of the ball and could reduce assembly time (especially for those who do not have a 1/8th drill bit/wood drill bits available to them) for folks who are relatively new to assembling desks of this nature. Next bit of advice: have 2-3 people help you, this desk is HEAVY!

Awesome

Great desk, I purchased the largest one. Very sturdy and high quality - but be aware this thing is extremely heavy! Relatively easy to assemble but definitely takes some time as there is a lot of steps. Overall i'm very happy with no complaints. The field elm top looks beautiful.

My First Desk

I love this desk. Assembling it alone was tough but well worth the effort. I have the standard sizing, and I might get the larger size in the future.

Great Desk!

I've owned this desk for a little under a week, and so far, I am extremely satisfied with it. It feels sturdy all around without any wobbling or shaking, and the surface is extremely flat and even. The lifting and lowering is very smooth and is one of the quietest I've heard. I bought the 29D x 70W desk. It's holding two monitors (high-refresh, on the heavier side), two speakers, my DAC & Amp, metal desk mic, mouse, keyboard, and my laptop, and the desk lifts everything effortlessly.

I don't want to call it a complaint because it wasn't that much of an issue, but I would say there's definitely some room for improvement with the assembly instructions. First, the screws aren't identified in the exact same way in the instructions compared to the bags they come in. The screw packs in the instructions have two identifiers such as "S-90" and "M6 x 8mm Set Screw" or "S200" and "M6 x 10mm Button Head". I've thrown the empty bags from the package away at this point, but they lacked the "Sxx" identifier and had a different label on top. They did have the "M6 x 8mm Set Screw" description on the bottom of the bag, but it was done in such a way that I was constantly double- and triple-checking that I was using the proper screws for each step.

The only other criticism I have is that the steps for securing the slide rails could have been much clearer. You just have to make sure they're more or less centered under the desktop and screw them down with the proper screws. It's makes 100% sense after doing it once, but I had to pause for a while during assembly and even did a small search online to make sure I was lining up the rails properly. The instructions emphasized a small channel + slot in the rails in one step (which is indeed where/when they had to be put in place), but didn't show how to secure them for 3 more steps. Due to the transparency in the diagram on the first step, I was unsure as to exactly how these slide rails needed to be positioned - both centered? staggered (one all the way left, and one all the way right)? In the end, not that big of a deal. I would suggest adding a few sentences or small paragraph to each page of the instructions with explicit details. The current manual is mostly going for a "pictures only" approach with a few warnings and "Important" text notes sprinkled in. E.g. "Important: Install screws loosely", then "Important: tighten all screws".

Overall, the assembly process still went pretty quickly, and I did not have any real issues. I can't comment on long-term durability, but I'm very happy right now with the final product, and I would gladly buy this desk again. Plus the 10-year warranty? Amazing stuff.
