Care

For everyday cleaning and maintenance of wool, use a lint roller. For food stains or liquid stains, wet the spot well with a mix of warm water and light detergent until saturated. Massage the stain lightly to break up fibers. Wait 2 or 3 minutes. Pat (don’t rub) the area firmly with an absorbent paper towel to remove moisture. Repeat as necessary until detergent clears. Let dry.

Vachetta leather requires gentle care to maintain its natural beauty. Avoid exposing it to water, oils, or direct sunlight, as these can cause staining or discoloration. To clean, use a soft, damp cloth and a mild leather cleaner, followed by a conditioner to keep the leather supple and hydrated. Over time, Vachetta leather develops a patina, which enhances its character.

German precision. Japanese innovation. California spirit.

The Name Behind the Brand

Holger Graf, with a Ph.D. in structural engineering, and Daniel Lantz, who immersed himself in Japan’s Shokunin craft traditions, brought together their unique perspectives to create Graf Lantz in Los Angeles. Inspired by a shared love for craftsmanship and unconventional materials, they began reimagining merino wool — a heritage textile — into refined, modern forms. Each piece is designed to endure and evolve beautifully over time, balancing art, function, and sustainability.

How It All Began

“We didn’t start with a mission — it evolved alongside us,” Graf and Lantz say. “Keeping things simple, natural, and different was all we knew at the time. Now, it’s everything we care about. It touches every aspect of what we do — how we make what we sell, choose materials, and value the relationships that shape each new day. What matters to us is knowing what got us here — and we have the proof. We're sticking with it: carving our niche, connecting with like-minded people, and treating every day like it's our first.”

Materials That Elevate and Inspire

Graf Lantz believes in the power of mindful, sustainable design and high performance. The brand’s unique collection of sustainable materials is driven by a simple mission: to elevate and inspire. Blending German precision, Japanese innovation, and California spirit, they craft a diverse range of products that deliver both subtlety and lasting impact. At the heart of it all is their heritage textile, merino wool — renowned for its unparalleled protection, luxurious feel, and sustainability.
