Care for Wood Top Products

CLEANING WOOD

  • For everyday cleaning, apply a small amount of warm water to a clean, lint-free microfiber cloth. The cloth should be slightly damp.
  • Gently wipe the surface in the direction of the grain to remove any surface dust.
  • Wipe dry immediately with a new, clean, lint-free microfiber cloth in the direction of the grain until the surface is completely dry.

POLISHING WOOD

  • Several times a year the top may be polished with wax-free furniture polish to clean, restore, and protect the surface. Frequent polishing is not recommended.
  • Use a clean, lint-free microfiber cloth and wipe in the direction of the grain.

SPOT CLEANING MARKS ON WOOD

  • Immediately wipe any liquids from the surface with a clean, lint-free microfiber cloth.

HANDLING AND CARE FOR WOOD

  • Use a clean, soft cloth to wipe all spills immediately to prevent water rings and stains. Do not allow spills to dry.
  • Avoid extreme heat, cold, or humidity variances.
  • Prolonged sunlight may affect the wood finish.
  • Protect wood surfaces from pens and sharp objects.
  • While wood is durable and easily cleaned, avoid using hard bristle brushes which may scratch the surface.
  • Avoid sliding objects over the surface to prevent scratching.
  • The use of coasters is recommended to prevent stains from liquids.

Care for Laminate Top Products

You can clean any laminate tabletop using a soft cloth with mild soap and warm water. Be sure to wipe the surface dry after.

FSC-Certified Wood

Our makers hand cut, plane, join and sand the wood tops, all sourced within 25 miles of the West Michigan workshop where each desk is made.

Easy-Care Laminate

Our laminate tops are certified GREENGUARD Gold® and tested to be free from over 10,000 chemicals. They resist stains and moisture for easy wear and care.

Solid Steel

Each base is cut by hand from full lengths of premium, hot-rolled solid steel sourced from the Great Lakes region. It’s welded and ground by hand for an ultra-smooth touch, even over seams. A powder-coated finish enhances durability and resistance to chips and scratches.

Welcome to the woodshop.

Hand selected and cut, each length of wood is FSC certified and sourced within 25 miles of our makers’ West Michigan workshop. Most of the wood they use grew up around here, just like they did. Sourcing locally helps reduce fossil fuels and greenhouse gases while paying homage to the land they love. Roughly half of their wood would get discarded in a conventional woodshop, but here it’s recovered to make something new. Plank construction ensures long-lasting durability.

Our artisans work in a small shop just off the shores of Lake Michigan. They hold a deep respect for nature, which inspires their work every day. Each step of the process involves a human touch, and nothing goes out the door if we’re not convinced it’s right.

High Quality Craftsmanship

Every aspect of my experience has been perfect.

1. Shipping: My order shipped within one day and arrived in four. There was zero damage to the wood, which I attribute to Haworth’s exceptional attention to detail in packaging. The corners of the tabletop were protected with hard plastic covers, and the entire surface was wrapped securely in foam padding. The metal legs were individually wrapped as well, preventing any scratches during transit.

2. Materials: Reading the description of the table didn’t prepare me for just how robust the wood top and metal legs are. The wood is truly solid, with no compromises. The welds on the legs are some of the most beautiful I’ve ever seen on any product, another detail other manufacturers often overlook.

3. Assembly: The desk was assembled in minutes and came with high-quality hardware. I’ve assembled other similarly priced furniture that included screws that easily strip or bend, but that was not the case here.

Haworth builds products with exceptional quality and craftsmanship. From now on, this will be the first place I look for furniture. If anyone at Haworth reads this thank you for making my experience perfect.

Great Size and Quality

I spent a long time looking for a sturdy quality built desk with the space I needed and that was easy to assemble
This desk fits the bill perfectly. I have two 27inch monitors and a computer- 70 inch desk will allow for a third if needed. I got the laminated desk and it is solid and professional in appearance. It was easy to install. I am 74 lol and it was simple. The leg holes were pre drilled and had metal inserts so the screws went in perfectly. Once in flip it up right and you are ready to go. It is heavy - about 60 pounds so you may need someone to help you flip it. Quality product and very well packaged- only took about a week to receive from initial order.

Excellent desk

I ordered the solid walnut with terra cotta flare leg desk after receiving wood and powder coat samples from Haworth. I appreciated being able to see the quality and color of the materials in person before committing to the desk. The desk shipped quickly and was very well packed, arriving in two boxes, one containing the legs and the other the desktop. Assembly took about 10 minutes to attach the legs to the pre-drilled holes in the desk with screws. I'm very happy with the purchase and appreciate being able to shop a company which manufactures in the USA.
