Sustainable design that lasts. And lasts.

It’s only natural that we’d partner with Emeco, a maker of furniture since 1944. Headquartered in Pennsylvania, this brand knows sustainable design and honest materials are at the heart of home.

1006 Navy Chair

First built for use on submarines in 1944, the Navy Chair has been made the same way ever since. Using a 77-step process, the makers take soft, recycled aluminum, then form and weld it by hand before tempering for strength. Finally, the chair is anodized for a durable finish. The Navy Chair is guaranteed for life.

Broom Chair

French industrial designer Philippe Starck had a vision. “Imagine a guy who takes a humble broom and starts to clean the workshop, and with this dust, he makes new magic.” Starck joined forces with Emeco to create this chair, made from 75% waste polypropylene and 15% reclaimed wood.

On & On Chair

Emeco partnered with a London-based design studio to create this conceptual collection that lives, well, on and on. Lightweight yet extremely durable, each chair and stool is made of recycled materials that can be recycled again. Use them indoors or out for decades of stunning simplicity.

Emeco and Coca-Cola — yes, that Coca-Cola — collaborated to help find a solution for environmental waste. Made of 111 recycled PET bottles, each chair in this collection is a story of innovation, upcycling, and timeless design.

The Pennsylvania Workshop

Emeco makes its classic aluminum chairs in Hanover, Pennsylvania. Where they’ve always been made, since 1944. The factory is still on Elm Avenue, and each chair is still built by hand. That process takes 77 steps, from forming, welding, and grinding to heat-treating, finishing, and anodizing. When it’s done, you’ve got a chair that’s so strong, it’s guaranteed for life.

“Reuse. Recycle. Re-imagine. Begin with what’s left over. Turn it into what will last. 75 years on, that still feels pretty fresh.”

— Gregg Buchbinder, CEO, Emeco
