Inspired by the natural flexibility of a fern leaf, this chair evenly distributes weight as you move to help relieve pressure. At its core is our patented Wave Suspension system, which mimics the human spine and cradles your body in comfort.

To create Fern, our designers partnered with the Human Performance Institute at Western Michigan University, where we conducted comfort studies with experts in biomechanics, physical therapy, and kinesiology.

How to Adjust & Care For Fern
  • Vacuum your chair as needed.
  • For additional cleaning, use a solution of lukewarm water and mild detergent (about 10%). Gently apply in a circular motion, then rinse with warm water and dry with a soft cloth.

Materials

Choose from breathable mesh, our zero-waste digital knit, or soft vegan leather. Mesh lets air pass through to naturally regulate body temperature. Our signature digital knit is knit to fit each chair using custom-fiber fabric. For a luxe look, choose our semi-aniline leather — it’s soft, durable, and easy to clean.

Forward Tilt

Angle the seat downward by 5° to support a forward-leaning posture — perfect for focused tasks.

Adjust the seat up and down depending on your height. Your knees should be at a 90° angle with your feet flat on the floor.

Most comfortable desk chair I have ever sat in.

In over three decades of spending anywhere from 6-12 hours a day at a desk, in several corporate environments, all equipped with commercial grade chairs from Haworth, Herman-Miller, Steelcase, and some of the cheap discount office supply store chairs, my two favorite chairs were Herman-Miller's Aeron and the Haworth Fern - The latter is my overall favorite, especially in cooler offices and data centers, as the cushion and fabric helps keep my body a little warmer, but not so much that I feel hot in warmer offices.

The real game changer for me with this chair over any of the dozen or so other commercial grade chairs I have used for several months or years, is the flexibility of the back as I move throughout the day.

Now that I am retired, yet still sit at a desk several hours a day, now doing 3D design and graphics, I decided to splurge buy my favorite desk chair, upgrading to the Digital Knit fabric (which I had never experienced before - it's REALLY nice and plush) in Lagoon. I also upgraded to the aluminum base, but opted to forego the Lumbar support and 4D arms, neither of which did I need before. I briefly considered getting the headrest, but as I never had one before, and never felt like I was missing anything, I opted against it as well.

I have a massive, high end sit-stand desk, a 49" super-ultrawide 32:9 display, high end PC, and everything else. Scrimping on the chair would have been silly, so I got the best!

Awesome chair

Ordered just before the discount and I asked for it before it shipped. They hooked it up. Nicest chair I’ve ever had. Only small complaint is arm rests are easily movable when sitting down. Would but it again though.

The chair looks even better in person and is extremely comfortable.

Corporate support team is amazing. I had an issue with another order and online customer service was having issues with their phone and email systems so I called the corporate team and they took care of everything for me. Just an amazing and responsive staff.
