Inspired by the natural flexibility of a fern leaf, this chair evenly distributes weight as you move to help relieve pressure. At its core is our patented Wave Suspension system, which mimics the human spine and cradles your body in comfort.

To create Fern, our designers partnered with the Human Performance Institute at Western Michigan University, where we conducted comfort studies with experts in biomechanics, physical therapy, and kinesiology.

  • Vacuum your chair as needed.
  • For additional cleaning, use a solution of lukewarm water and mild detergent (about 10%). Gently apply in a circular motion, then rinse with warm water and dry with a soft cloth.

Great chair

I love the Fern chair. I used them at work and needed something better for my home office. The adjustments are great. My only comment would be that the 4d arms can move out of place easily but that it minor. Additionally, I had a shipping issue and Haworth made it right very quickly. Added points for their customer service. I was happy with their service so I also bought a Breck chair for my daughter.

All it took was sitting in one locally before ordering two that night when returning home.
We had been on a months long search and knew within a few minutes sitting in the various Haworth chairs we’d found what we sought in the fern.
The tilt seat, lumber, 4D arms [and headrest] are key to making this chair so comfortable in so many positions. The recline stops and tension adjustment are thoughtful and perfect for someone who likes to recline and sit upright.
Opted for the digital knit due to its slight increase in padding and cooler climate. The leather is beautiful however I feel for this purpose the fabric is the stronger choice.

Exactly As I hoped For

The foam for the chair is stiff and durable for long periods of time. I sit in my chair for almost 16 hours a day. Being able to recline a little is really nice and the build quality, despite being plastic, is really sturdy.
