Designed by Icelandic designer Hlynur Atlason for Heller, Bluff brings sculptural form and everyday comfort to modern living. Suitable for indoor or outdoor use, it’s offered in a palette of warm colors that echo tones found in the natural landscape.

Inspired by coastal bluffs shaped by wind and water, the chair’s form explores the balance between solid and open space. A curved tripod base supports a gently scooped seat that cradles the body in a relaxed, supported position. By carefully refining the chair’s angles and proportions, Atlason created a design that feels effortless to sit in—comfortable enough to forget the chair entirely.

Made in the USA from a high percentage of recycled post-consumer plastic (with black containing the highest percentage), the Bluff Chair is also fully recyclable. A discreet drainage hole in the seat prevents water from pooling, making it well suited for life indoors or out.

Care

Cleaning
For everyday cleaning, wipe with a soft, damp cloth and a non-abrasive, bleach-free cleaner. For tougher marks, use a mild detergent (such as dish soap diluted in warm water) and a soft brush. Dry with a soft cloth or chamois.

UV Exposure
Made from UV-stabilized low-density polyethylene (LDPE), this product is designed for outdoor use. Like all polyethylene, prolonged exposure to extreme conditions may cause wear over time. In extreme temperatures (below 15°F or above 100°F), we recommend covering when not in use to help preserve the finish.

Polishing & Scratches
To maintain the original finish, use a plastic polish such as NOVUS® Plastic Clean & Polish. For high-traffic use, polish monthly; for normal use, every 2–3 months. This can help minimize the appearance of minor scratches and wear.
