Devils in the details

This lamp had the potential for being great, and judging by the photos you’d think it would be. The disappointment comes first from the needlessly obvious overlay seam of the pvc-scrim shade on the side (why not the back facing the wall?), and secondly, the shadow of the stretcher element that supports the lamp and presses against the plexiglass frame to keep the shade taut. I’m confident that with some thoughtful consideration these details could have been resolved more cleanly.
